The spoils of the Stanford Library invasion:

Yep, all of those books are for research for fanfiction.

Is it normal that I am frothing at that mouth from this? Oh, well, I never did claim to be normal anyway :) This is a wonderful treasure trove and I am very jealous of your well stocked library!!!

Some poor rich kid probably can't finish his paper without London: A Life In Maps. You should be ashamed. ;)

Can't wait for the very realistic porn!

Stanford probably has 4 copies of each of those books. So unless there are three moony-dopplegangers out there also researching for porn, that poor rich kid is probably safe.

... or using Wikipedia for his paper anyway. (SHAME ON HIM.)

LOL! Yeah, I'm sure Wikipedia is the source for most papers these days and no one will notice any books are gone. When I was in college, I used to feel sorry for books that hadn't been checked out of the library since 1947 so I'd check them out so they could get a little time away from the stacks. Clearly I was stressed out from all the studying.

Actually, my public library has a program that encourages people to check out books that haven't been checked out in a while, even if they don't read them. I guess a lot of public libraries these days have a way of checking which books aren't being checked out and they use that as a way of culling their stock to make room for the new things that people will check out.

It's sad. D:
